Stream on-site activity data to Google BigQuery in real time

Every scan, button press and check-in recorded on your sites tells you something about how work gets done in the field. With the Google BigQuery connector, Ubiqod streams this data in real time from your QR codes, TaqtOne devices and SafeQod into your own BigQuery dataset: as soon as an event is received, it’s available for analysis, with no export, no manual sync and no code to write.

Once your on-site activity data lives in BigQuery, it becomes part of your data stack. You can cross it with your other business data (staffing, contracts, sales, customer feedback), build live dashboards in Looker Studio, or connect Claude dashboard to BigQuery to ask questions in plain language and generate dashboards in seconds, such as “Which sites missed scheduled cleaning rounds this week?”.

This article walks you through the setup, which only takes a few minutes.

Step 1: Prepare your dataset in BigQuery

Create a new dataset

Create a dataset for field tracking data in Google Big Query

Create a table in the dataset

In your new dataset, you can create a table containing the information you need to track your on-site activity. Here is an example table:

Set up access to your dataset

Create a service account with read and write access to your dataset, and download the corresponding JSON key:

You can use the following permissions (for demonstration purposes only; please restrict access to your own dataset):

Step 2: Set up your Ubiqod account

Add a new connection

Add a BigQuery dispatch and add a new connection, using the JSON key previously downloaded:

Map the fields

Map each column of the table you created in BigQuery to the corresponding data in Ubiqod. You can find a description of the available fields by clicking here.

Connect your trackers to the dispatch

From now on, every tracker (QR code, TaqtOne or SafeQod) linked to the dispatch you just created will send its data to BigQuery.

Step 3: Test your flow

You can check the connector or tracker logs to make sure the data is being sent correctly and that no errors have been reported.
