Why duplicated QR code trackers are inactive by default

Why are duplicated QR code trackers inactive by default?

When you duplicate a QR code tracker from the Ubiqod platform, the new trackers are automatically set as inactive. This behavior is intentional and ensures that no credits are consumed before the trackers are effectively put into service.

Purpose of automatic deactivation

Duplicated trackers inherit the configuration of the original (parent) tracker, including interface and dispatch settings. However, they are not yet physically deployed or installed. Activating them immediately could result in:

  • Unintentional credit consumption

  • Unexpected dispatch behavior if the configuration includes integrations with your systems

By setting duplicated trackers to inactive, we help you maintain full control over when each tracker becomes operational.

When to activate duplicated trackers

Once your new QR code trackers are:

  • Printed and deployed physically on site

  • Properly tested by your team

  • Ready to collect data and trigger dispatch actions

…you can manually activate them in the management platform. Go to the tracker list, select the duplicated tracker, and change its status to “active”.

Important: Don’t forget to verify the configuration (interface, groups, dispatch settings) before activation.

Key benefits

  • Avoids unwanted credit usage

  • Prevents early or accidental activations

  • Gives you full control over deployment timing
