How to Associate a Smartphone with a User for Secure Identification
How to Associate a Smartphone with a Person for Identification
With trackers such as QR codes, NFC tags, or Ubiqod Key, it is possible to link a smartphone to a user to make operations faster and more secure.
Benefits of this association
- Simplified Actions: The user only needs to perform one action with their smartphone, such as selecting "Arrival" or "Departure" for on-site check-in.
- Reduced Fraud: It becomes more difficult for unauthorized users to check in for someone else without their smartphone, which is more personal and less transferable than a badge or code.
- No App Installation Required: This process works without requiring users to install any specific app, using the existing functionalities of their device.
Activating and Setting Up the Association in the Interface
Enable Retention
- In the interface's OPTIONS, check "Retain the code or the identifier" in the Protection/Identification section.
Set Retention Duration
- Choose how long the code or identifier should be retained. After this period, the user will need to re-enter their personal code or scan their QR code badge.
- If you want to avoid requiring re-entry, you can set a retention period of several thousand days.
First User Check-In
After the administrator activates this function, during the first use, the user must enter their personal identifier or scan their QR code. After this, for the entire retention period, re-entry will no longer be required.
Good to know: The Ubiqod platform allows you to determine whether an identification was performed by entering the code or if it was retrieved from the smartphone’s memory.Known Limitations
Private Browsing
- If the user always browses in private mode, their identity will not be retained and will need to be entered every time.
Deleting Cookies
- If the user clears their browser cookies, they will have to re-identify themselves at the next check-in.
What to Do If There Was an Entry Error?
If an entry error occurs, delete the Ubiqod cookie from the browser and restart the process.
